Ballarat is cold and wet again, thank goodness. The surrounding hills of Ballarat are green, the Wendouree Lake has some water starting to flow into it, and dust has settled on the streets. It's the perfect time to rug up and visit places like Sovereign Hill or the beautiful Ballarat Botanical Gardens. There's plenty of places warm and cosy so pick out a cafe or restaurant and immerse yourself in the history of the town. |
Central Square Shopping Centre is located in the main street of Ballarat offering over 40 Speciality retailers as well as Target, and a Rivers Super Store. It offers shopping in the heart of the Ballarat CBD. Built in 1988 it offers 3 stories of shopping under cover.
There is plenty of undercover parking (the first two hours being free). Close by are a taxi rank, bus stop and the train station is only a few blocks away. Customer facilities at Central Square include free wheelchair hire and a lost property department. Two parent's rooms are available within the Centre, together with parents and disabled parking. |
Ballarat is Victoria's second largest regional centre. After taking a tram ride around the lake or a paddle boat ride on it visitors can stroll through the beauty of Ballarat's Botanical Gardens. The architure of Ballarat is stunning with buildings such as the Fine Art Museum. Ballarat is an all year destination offering everything you would expect in a city including movie theatre, bowling lanes, live theatre, restaurants and cafes galore, and every type of pampering you can imagine. |
