Ballarat is cold and wet again, thank goodness.  The surrounding hills of Ballarat are green, the Wendouree Lake has some water starting to flow into it, and dust has settled on the streets.  It's the perfect time to rug up and visit places like Sovereign Hill or the beautiful Ballarat Botanical Gardens.  There's plenty of places warm and cosy so pick out a cafe or restaurant and immerse yourself in the history of the town.

Harry Limes Restaurant & Bar Harry Limes Restaurant & Bar
Relax in the ambience of Harry Limes, whether sitting down for a quiet drink or a fine meal with friends, we cater for everyone. The cuisine is Australian/ Mediterranean, loosely interpreted as cosmopolitan dishes. Most of the ingredients used are grown locally and have been carefully teamed with our wine list.

Gills Boatshed Gills Boatshed
Relax on the deck with a magnificent view of Lake Wendouree or inside at one of many tables overlooking the waters edge or alternatively sit back in an arm-chair and sip a glass of fine wine.

The Santa Fe The Santa Fe
Located in the heart of Ballarat's CBD, offers the best in authentic Tex-Mex, Char-grilled steaks and Juicy ribs in Victoria. The restaurant seats 70 inside with alfreso dining. We make all our sauces, steak rubs and salsas in our kitchen from the freshest locally, grown products available, cut our own steaks in house, and use very little ready-made products from food suppliers.

Phoenix Brewery Phoenix Brewery
Located in the historic Camp Street arts precinct in Central Ballarat opposite the University of Ballarat city campus, the Phoenix Brewery offers a dining experience unique to the city of Ballarat. Owner/Operator Simon Coghlan has created a versatile space which incorporates formal dining, private functions and a fresh metro bar style.

Pipers On The Parade Pipers On The Parade

A unique setting blending a cosmopolitan atmosphere with old world charm. Lunch is served in a relaxed warm environment with peaceful ambiance and views of the lakeOr dine Alfresco on the deck overlooking the lake.

Ballarat is Victoria's second largest regional centre. After taking a tram ride around the lake or a paddle boat ride on it visitors can stroll through the beauty of Ballarat's Botanical Gardens.  The architure of Ballarat is stunning with buildings such as the Fine Art Museum.  Ballarat is an all year destination offering everything you would expect in a city including movie theatre, bowling lanes, live theatre, restaurants and cafes galore, and every type of pampering you can imagine.

Dining in a Cafe or Restaurant offers one of life's simple pleasures.  Whether it be a cheap eat or silver service, there is nothing better than a good meal.  An Italian, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, Mexican or Australian restaurant offers dining experiences to make you want to go back again and again.  Try a local cafe for a coffee and cake or perhaps a light meal.  Let's not forget the range of takeaway with pizza, fish and chips and noodles.
